The Butterball Party

The Butterball Party is an epic evening of unapologetic enjoyment, fueled by a desire to raise funds that positively impact the lives of those in need. As the hottest event in the Twin Cities dedicated to serving the underserved, The Butterball Party is proud to benefit Open Arms of Minnesota.

This year, nearly 1200 community-minded individuals will unite in an evening of social revelry for this most noble cause. The Butterball Party 2011 is slated to surpass the $100,000 raised in 2009. These funds help ensure that each year Open Arms of Minnesota can provide more than 400,000 free, nutritious meals, as well as compassion and hope, to those in the Twin Cities who suffer from life threatening illnesses.

From The Hold Steady to Soul Asylum and Brother Ali to The Suburbs, The Butterball Party has always offered an enviable opportunity to celebrate and socialize with other community-minded individuals while experiencing music in an intimate setting. This year, that trend continues with a private show by internationally renowned Semisonic and the riveting musical showman, Har Mar Superstar.

The Music

From The Hold Steady to Soul Asylum and Brother Ali to The Suburbs, the Butterball Party has always offered an enviable opportunity to experience music in an intimate setting. This year continues the trend featuring none other than Minneapolis’ own, Semisonic. They are best known for their late 1990s hit singles “Closing Time“, “Singing in My Sleep” and “Secret Smile“.

This years special guest MC, Sean Tillmann, was named 2004 NME “Rock And Roll Man Of The Year,” and is best known as R&B alter ego Har Mar Superstar. Har Mar Superstar is a character who bears several physical and behavioral similarities to porn star Ron Jeremy; he is chubby, he often performs his shows nearly nude, and always brings a big time personality to his events. His primary musical genres are contemporary R&B and pop music.

The Cause

Butterball Is Proud to Support Open Arms of Minnesota

All proceeds from The Butterball Party 2011 support the wonderful work of Open Arms. By partnering as a Sponsor, VVIP, VIP or Guest at The Butterball Party 2011, you enjoy one of the best parties of the year while positively impacting the lives of critically ill people in our local community.

Founded in 1986, Open Arms is the only nonprofit organization in Minnesota that cooks and delivers free, delicious and nutritious meals to individuals living with serious and life-threatening illness, as well as their caregivers and dependent children. Open Arms brings good food, compassion, dignity and hope to people living with HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS and more than 65 other diseases. A volunteer network of nearly 1,500 helps prepare meals in the state-of–the-art kitchen at Open Arms’ Minneapolis headquarters and delivers them throughout the Twin Cities Area seven days a week.
